Splinter! #1: Crony Capitalism #TGDN #tcot @elonmusk

If you saw my post on the interview with Elon Musk then I would say that was the best 50 minutes you spent in a long time.  If you haven’t seen it, please go and watch it.  I know 50 minutes is a lot of time to devote to ANY single blog entry but this will be worth your time if you actually care about your country and especially the economy.

As I watched the video, I started realizing that this man is the poster boy for American entrepreneurship.  Not the likes of any of those others that pretend to innovate while on the other side they’re using the government to stifle their competition.  That is called ‘Crony Capitalism‘.  To put it succinctly, Crony Capitalism is where there is a tight relationship between business and the state and where that relationship is the reason for the success of a business, not having a better product at a marketable price.   In my opinion, this is a result of creeping socialism in our government.

Those companies, like Ford, GM, Chrysler and many of the franchise owners that sell the ‘not-so-Big Three’ automaker’s cars use the government to make it harder or impossible for new, innovative companies to compete.

This is one example of how that works.  And THAT is an example of how it works in one of the supposedly ‘free market’ states, Texas.  The Texas I know should be ashamed of their government and of Rick Perry for allowing this to occur.

So…I ask you…who do you want to do business with?  The people who are so lazy that they would rather use the government to kill their competition in lieu of COMPETING fairly in the marketplace.

Or…would you rather do business with a person like Elon Musk.

Thanks for watching…hope you enjoy this shorter, more focused format.  Please leave comments at https://politicalbrian.wordpress.com , the my FaceBook page http://www.facebook.com/pushthemback or meet me on Twitter at @brianmcquaig .
